Michelle Broussard has a B.A. in Interior Design as well as a B.Ed. in Fine Arts, is a member of the DIA, KBDi and MDG. 

With a varied portfolio of work across a range of fields of design, Michelle is also an artist and regularly exhibits her handcrafted silver pieces and unique paintings.

Our simple process


Find pictures and samples of what you like, no matter how outrageous! Include fabric samples, magazine pictures, paint colours or any other material that inspires you. Collect and save these in one file so it’s always handy.


Our first appointment is very important as this allows us to meet you and see what you need, want, like or dislike. A face-to-face meeting is important to determine who you are and how you live. We will tour your house and review your inspiration file. It’s here that we establish the 'brief' which will guide us along the way. 


This is critical as the amount you wish to spend will determine how big the project becomes. Budget is determined by how much renovation work is required and how much furniture and accessories are needed. If structural works are also required, then this must be considered in the budget before any décor selections.


You can choose whether you want to have us as 'design consultants' only, where we provide colour suggestions, material options and offer a list of places to shop. This is for those who like to ‘do it themselves’.

Or, you can choose to have us do everything for you, with your guidance of course. Alternatively, settle on a mix of the two: let us take care of a select number of projects and you handle the rest. The choice is yours.


When we know what has to be done, it’s time for you to commit the time and money to finish your dream space. Remember, projects will take the time they require. We will do our best to speed up the process but it will all happen in fair time.

For example, it generally takes 8 – 10 weeks for furniture, drapes and materials to be installed. Custom cabinetry and fixtures can take up to 12 weeks. Accessorising will take approximately 4 weeks.

Design Intern

We're always on the look out for enthusiastic, hardworking and ambitious design interns. Great if you're already studying interior design and have some industry experience. Interns with Photoshop, CAD and other program knowledge preferred. The candidate should be willing to work remotely and in our Melbourne-based studio.

We have used Colour Confidence twice. Both times the service provided was invaluable in adding value to our homes and getting our colour choices right - the first time! In the past we have fumbled through costly colour choices and interior decisions only to find that we made some choices that just did not work. 
Michelle really listened to what it was we were trying to achieve and then provide cost effective ways to decorate - and the end result was really fabulous. 

The second home we were renovating for investment turned out to be a very stressful time for our family. The building report failed to identify a lot of costly work that had to be done before we could present the home for good tenants. I called Colour Confidence after the wonderful job they did with our first home in Williamstown, only this time I was in a terrible state. I was trying to renovate with three young children at my feet and renovation costs blowing our budget out completely. Colour Confidence came in with all their contacts and brilliant advice and really gave me peace of mind that I was making the right decisions about colours etc. They were really supportive during a very stressful time, and even called back to the house that I was renovating and dropped drinks off for my children and a little special treat (without my even knowing). 

I can't recommend their service enough - they go beyond what is required and really do care. Oh and they are very affordable and actually saved me a ton on money on bad paint/carpet choices.
